SERVICE CONCIERGE

We are not a shop. We are the person who deals with the shop.

Krueger Motors does not have a service bay, and that is deliberate. What we have is a network — mechanics, body and paint, detailers, glass, tyres — built over years of putting our own inventory through it. We come get your vehicle, take it to whichever of them is right for the job, and bring it back to you.

Why this is worth anything

The hard part of car repair is not the wrench work. It is knowing which shop to trust with which job, knowing what a fair number looks like for it, and having enough standing with that shop that your car does not sit for a week behind somebody else’s. That knowledge takes years to build and is worth nothing to you until the morning something goes wrong.

We already built it, because we have to — every vehicle on our lot goes through the same network before it gets listed. Opening it up to people who did not buy a car from us costs us very little and saves you the part of car ownership that is genuinely miserable: the calling around, the second opinion, the suspicion that you are being quoted the out-of-towner price.

There is also a structural point worth being blunt about. A shop makes money when it does work. We do not do the work, so we have no reason to find you some. If the answer is “that noise is nothing, drive it,” we would rather tell you that and keep you as a customer for the next fifteen years.

How it goes

  1. 01

    Tell us what it's doing

Call or send a message describing the problem in whatever words you have. “Something grinding at low speed” is a fine starting point. We will ask a few questions and tell you honestly whether this is worth doing.

  2. 02

    We come and get it

From your house or your office. You do not sit in a waiting room, you do not arrange a ride, and you do not lose half a Saturday to a drop-off.

  3. 03

It goes to the right specialist

Not to one shop that does everything adequately. Mechanical work goes to the mechanic we trust with that kind of job, body and paint to the body shop, detail to the detailer. Matching the work to the right hands is most of the value here.

  4. 04

You hear the number before the work starts

We come back to you with what it needs, what it costs, and what can wait. Nothing gets done that you have not agreed to.

  5. 05

    We bring it back

Back to where we picked it up, with a plain account of what was done and anything worth watching.

What it costs, and who can use it

$125

Flat, per job. Whatever the vehicle, whatever the repair.

That covers collecting the vehicle, getting it to the right shop, staying on it while it is there, and bringing it back to you. The shop’s bill is the shop’s bill — you see their actual invoice, and we do not add anything to it.

A flat fee, not a percentage, on purpose. If we took a cut of the repair we would make more money the bigger the bill got, and you would be right to wonder about that. $125 is $125 whether the answer is an oil change or a transmission. It is the same amount of work on our end either way.

Open to anyone. You do not have to have bought a car from us. People who did get priority when the week is full, which is the only advantage they get.

Any vehicle, not just the ones we sell. We are routing the work to the right specialist rather than turning the wrenches, and that job is the same whatever the badge on the grille.

Roughly five miles from the lot. That covers most of the neighborhood around the lot on Burnet Rd — Allandale, Crestview, Brentwood, Rosedale, North Loop, Hyde Park, Highland. Further out, ask anyway. If the job makes sense we will come get it; we would rather say yes case by case than publish a radius we cannot honor on a busy week.

Nothing gets authorized without you. We come back with what it needs, what it costs and what can wait, and the work starts when you say so.

Repair-service terms and the estimate and authorization language on this page should be checked against Texas requirements before the site goes live. The rules that govern our vehicle sales are not the same ones that govern arranging repairs.

Start with a phone call

Tell us what the car is doing. If it is something we can help with, we will set a time to come get it. If it is not, we will say so and point you at whoever should be looking at it.
